Cosmetic Dentistry

At the Nu Smile Center For Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry, we use the CEREC 3D system to give you porcelain restorations in one visit. You don't need to wait while a dental laboratory makes your porcelain veneer or crown, or porcelain filling. We can make it here in our offices and save you having to wear a temporary restoration.

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. Acronyms are a wonderful thing. The system has a computer, a camera, a laser, and a milling machine. It does digital X-rays. It stands on the floor in full view, and we use it to plan your treatment, prepare your tooth, make your porcelain restoration, and bond it in place, all in one visit.

Whatever dental problems you may be having, we can likely give you a quicker solution using CEREC than anyone could without it. Nor is dental quality compromised because we use the finest porcelain and match it closely to your natural tooth color.

Quickly replace old metal fillings

If you would like to have your old metal fillings replaced but imagine there would be a lot of noisy drilling and hours spent uncomfortably in the dental chair, please reconsider. The CEREC 3D system along with our other modern dental equipment will enable us to replace them with customized porcelain fillings,
bonded permanently to each tooth. You need be here
for only one visit and we can replace all of them.

Metal fillings are not bonded to the tooth. They sit in
the cavity exerting outward pressure to remain there.
The cavity was shaped to hold them in. This weakens
the tooth, making it more likely to crack. Your new
porcelain fillings (also called inlays and onlays) will
hold the teeth together, strengthen them, and
prolong their life. Besides all that, they will look beautiful.

Replace old crowns too

If you have a mouthful of old crowns - gold crowns or even porcelain crowns with a dark metal lining that has started to show - why not make an appointment to have them all replaced on one day? You will not have to wear any temporary crowns while a dental laboratory takes two or three weeks to make the new ones. Our CEREC 3D system will make them while you're here in our office, and you can leave with a whole new brightness to your smile.
